Parents with Disabilities

A parent with a disability is just that, "A parent with a disability". Doesn't mean they can't be a parent, just means they have a disability that makes things different then a parent without a disability.

Disabilities can range from being hyper to being slow. It can range from having trouble walking to being in a wheel chair. It can also range from being extremely intelligent to having trouble getting through the day without help.

We are beginning to hear from people with disabilities that are being kept from their children. If you know of a situation of this nature, we would like to hear from you as well. You may contact us at volunteer@three-sides-to-every-story.org. Someone from 3 Sides will contact you soon.

We have a disability act in this country, but it seems to not matter when it comes to someone not being able to set still long enough to take parenting classes...they just stop visitation and break the bond between parent and child.

The parent as well as the child are punished when a disababled parent is kept from their own child(ren), and disability is the only grounds they have to stop the relationship.

Parents with Disabilities are Still Parents

Even after becoming adults, we
still need our parents, disabilites and all.

Anything that disables or puts one at a disadvantage is a disability. That being said, does that mean when the system puts one parent at a disadvantage, does that mean that parent is disabled?

Are we becoming a nation of people in "Power" who think they are better equipped to say who can and who can't have their children?

Will the children who are losing parents today come to want answers tomorrow? Will the people responsible for ripping parents from children be able to explain why? Will the children accept their answers? Probably not! Especially when they weigh their pain against the money made from their case.

IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT GIVES WHAT YOU GET...TRY GIVING WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE.

BROKEN FAMILIES ACROSS THIS LAND ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO HELP.

CHILDREN SHOULD BE OUR FIRST PRIORITY - FAMILY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT GIFT YOU WILL EVER RECEIVE.
