Should Judges Be Allowed To Practice Law?
Posted On 2006-06-05 , 11:25 AM
Certain Judges are appointed while others are elected. Do you think either of them should be allowed to set on the bench and practice law at the same time. For instance - Do you think a Juvenile Judge - should be able to handle Juvenile Cases from the bench and also handle Adoptions through his private law practice?

| | 2. | Juvenile Judges should not be allowed to handle any type of case for a minor involving family law. If that minor goes on to get in some type of trouble...then that judge will have to excuse himself and call in another judge...or I suspect he may just go ahead and hear the case and not excuse himself. I do not believe that anyone that has any connection to each other should be allowed to be on opposing sides of the same case...or be the judge on a case they handled in the past. - by Bessie, 2006-06-12, 2:22 AM
