Mother
Merriam-Webster defines mother as “a female parent, a woman in authority”. Though this definition is quite true, it does not correctly portray the responsibility or the privileges the position of motherhood holds. A mother should be multifaceted. Mother can be more adequately defined as a nurturer, comforter, teacher, life instructor, disciplinarian, and a friend who loves unconditionally, spiritual leader, speaker of truth, lighthouse warning of upcoming danger and giving proper directions to avoid it.
To nurture is to help the growth or development of a child, physically, mentally and spiritually. It means to prepare or see to it that a child has proper food as nourishment to ensure the best physical development possible. It means to ensure that a child receives an education, learn to study, and learn to learn. It means to give a child a clear understanding of moral behavior and thought processes, to distinguish right from wrong, good from bad. It means to provide them with a spiritual understanding according to her convictions. A mother should teach her children by living life as an example before them and teach them verbally of prudent ways of behavior. It is her job to prepare a child to become an adult, a daughter to become a mother and wife and to prepare a son to become a father and husband.
It is imperative that a mother begin this process as soon as the child is born. A mother begins to teach a child about love, comfort, security, contentment by holding, cuddling, feeding and bathing a baby.
Father Merriam-Webster defines father as “a male parent, a man who exercises paternal care over other persons; paternal protector or provider”. Though this definition is quite true, it does not correctly portray the responsibility or the privileges the position of fatherhood holds. A father should be multifaceted. Father can be more adequately defined as a nurturer, comforter, teacher, life instructor, disciplinarian, and a friend who loves unconditionally, spiritual leader, speaker of truth, lighthouse warning of upcoming danger and giving proper directions to avoid it.

Summery
The difference between mother and father is really not that different as far as what they should be doing for their children. The basic difference is the female vs. the male way of looking at how to raise their childrn and have a lasting family.
Every family is different, meaning they are not
identical. Different doesn't mean they are wrong, just not identical.
Your family is made up of the same parts, but each part can be different.
-
Some families have one child, some have more
-
Some families have biological parents, some have step parents
-
Some families have grandparents, some have none
-
Some families have
adequate finances, some struggle
-
Some families have a working mother, some don't
-
Some families attend church, some don't
-
Some families home school, some children go to public school
-
Some families have pets, some don't
-
Some families make a big deal out of holidays, some think it is a waste of time
-
Some families have goals and try to reach them, others muddle through day after day
-
Some families tell their children nothing but the truth, some think it is ok to not include them
-
Some families go into the family for a lifetime, some give up at the first sign of trouble
If your family is differnt then others, you are not alone. It is OKay to be different, it is what the world consists of, difference.

From the mother of the husband, the mother-in-law of the wife and grandmother of all these precious children.
I will start out by bragging about the above family I call mine. They are wonderful, they are are fun, they are kind, protective and loving.
Now, I want to share with you what it has meant to watch this family grow over the years.
As the parents married and started out on their own, they made me proud. They learned to plan and work towards a future. As I became acquainted with my dauther-in-law and I began to be very impressed with her, I also watched my son turn into a husband.
When they started to talk about starting a family, I was over joyed, but little did I know they would go on to bring six terrific, wonderful children into this world. It has been 17 years since the first child was on the way. They have raised her, as well as the other five by giving themselves to them totally.
I was raised in a broken home, had a broken spirit and lived a broken life for years to follow. When I raised my two sons I did everything I could to do to do right by them. As all parents know, that is not always easy.
While I have learned from all the experience I myself have been through over the years, I have to say that my sons have proven to me that love carries as much weight as any other part of a child's life. While I was not always on the right track to do the right thing for my children while as they were growing up, they always knew I loved them. They knew I was there for them and they still know today I am there for them. They were my world and still are.
This beautiful family my son and his wife have brought into this world, has had total and unconditional love from both of their parents. They have gone through thick and thin to stay together and raise them. Their children are examples of what they have given to their family as they have taken total responsibility for their children. They also realized from the beginning they made a commitment to each other and it was up to them to make it work.
Life is hard, Life is harder alone and Life is even harder if you don't have your family.
