Information about Guardians ad Litem that has been Sent to Us

A Guardian ad Litem is a person, not necessarily a lawyer, who is appointed by a court to represent and protect the interests of a child or an incapacitated adult during a lawsuit.

For example, a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) may be appointed to represent the interests of a child whose parents are locked in a contentious battle for custody, or to protect a child's interests in a lawsuit where there are allegations of child abuse.

The GAL may conduct interviews and investigations, make reports to the court and participate in court hearings or mediation sessions.

As we collect information about the field of Guardian ad Litem and how the GAL is appointed to look out for those that do not have a voice, or cannot use it, we will post all we find.

Protecting children and adults who are unable to look out for themselves…for what ever reason…if one of the most important tasks we as human beings are entrusted to do.

All of the information you find in this section is of and about the Guardian ad Litem and their roll in protecting those that need help in our un-family courts of today.

If you are in the middle of a situation that involves a Guardian ad Litem for your child(ren)…please allow the Guardian to proceed as necessary and allow your child(ren) to have the safety net of talking to someone that will listen to them and help them adjust to their new life.

No child deserves to be pulled from heart string to heart string because their parents can no longer be under the same roof. YOUR child deserves the freedom to love both of his/her parents without punishment from either side.

You chose your mate for what ever reason…but God chose the child he sent to you…respect that choice and allow your child to be what God sent him/her to be.

A MESSAGE TO ALL GUARDIANS ad LITEM

If you have chosen to go down the path of being a Guardian ad Litem…to help and protect the life of a child…please treat them as if they are intelligent and know their own feelings. Help them to understand they can talk to you…and that you will protect their feelings as you would protect your very own. Always remember they love both parents and they have the ability to handle a wide variety of situations.

Help their parents and the judge to do what IS best for the children and not just what the adults or maybe just one adult wants.

Keep in mind that if you do not protect the love they have for both parents…you may not get the chance to fix it after it goes sour.
