How to Register to Vote in Massachusetts

Boston was the birthplace of the American Revolution and the home of such patriots as Paul Revere and John Hancock. It’s a city with a rich tradition of political activism, but sadly that doesn’t always mean Bostonians turn out to vote on Election Day.

Voting is more than an obligation; it is a right that every citizen should exercise. It’s your chance to have a say in what happens, to shape your community. And with the Internet, registering to vote is now easier than ever. Here is a resource guide for Massachusetts voters, including who’s eligible to vote, how to register, where to vote, how the voting process works, and what political parties are represented in our state. See you at the polls!

Now is a good time to register to vote if you’re not already registered, or if you need to change your address*. If you have a party preference and want to vote in the Democratic or Republican Primary, the deadline for submitting your registration or changing your address is 20 days prior to the election.
